Welcome to Centralhatchee

The Town Of Centralhatchee is located in Northern Heard county Georgia approximately 7 miles from the county seat of Franklin Georgia. The community was originally known as Black Ankle until the town was chartered as Centralhatchee in 1903. Current population is 409.

THE CITY WELL

The “public well” is located in the exact center of the Town of Centralhatchee on Centralhatchee Parkway. The well was dug by Jewel and John Gladney around 1935 and 1936.

The city seal for Centralhatchee was designed by Annie Henderson. Annie was in the third grade at Centralhatchee Elementary school when she entered a contest to design the city seal. Annie’s drawing won and is the official seal used today.


Around town

Centralhatchee City park

The city park is located at 139 Nutt Rd. Franklin, Ga 30217. Centered in the park, sets the veterans memorial. The memorial serves as a place to reflect, remember, and honor all who have served our great nation. Surrounding the memorial, the park has several amenities to offer for your enjoyment. At the park you will find a baseball field equipped with a scoreboard, basketball court, and tennis court. Also, playgrounds, a walking trail, an area for volleyball, two pavilions, and restrooms. The baseball field and pavilions are available to be reserved free of charge for day use by contacting the city hall at 770-854-5801 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday from 9am to 5pm. and Wednesday 9 am to 12 Noon. Centralhatchee community center

The community center is located at 715 Centralhatchee Pkwy. Franklin, Ga. 30217 on the lower level of the city hall. The community center is available to rent daily (16 hrs) from 6am to 10pm. for a fee of $100. If all rules are followed and there are no damages to the facility, $25 of your rental fee will be returned to you. Reservations are made first come first serve. The center has a full size sink and refrigerator, warming oven, and microwave. Also, swings and a play ground outside. The center will accommodate up to 100 +

To rent the center, contact the city hall at 770-854-5801 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9am to 5pm. and Wednesday 9am to 12 Noon. Reservation Forms are available by clicking the Reservation Forms, Permits, & Business Licenses tab above. You must come in person with cash or check to make a payment for the reservation fee.

The library is located at 171 Notnomis Rd. Franklin, Ga. 30217 Hours of operation are Tuesday 11 am - 7 pm Wednesday 11am - 5pm Thursday & Friday 9am - 5pm Closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
